Integrated community for 10,000 people

A new residential quarter on a 61 hectare site 3600 dwellings, a school, hospital and other communal and commercial facilities, landscaped courts and parks, street networks and services.

Three residential prototypes are varied throughout the development to produce a rich and textured urban grain.

Drawing on the theme of arab irrigation systems, the development is structured around large water bodies, whose reference to local landscape types gives the project richness and cultural credibility.

The site was eventually developed predominantly with one building type.
