16 Apartments at Hurstville, Development Approval and Construction Certificate by Randles Hill Architects
This modestly scaled apartment building articulates a corner on the fringe of a suburban commercial district. As the first of series of transformative interventions, this project establishes the street’s new scale and character, while reevaluating locally used materials and construction methods.
Within the apartments, north facing living areas are separated from the private domain by a continuous storage zone, optimising both levels of acoustic insulation and privacy.
Balconies are conceived as outdoor rooms: they extend the internal living space while providing a distinct level of outdoor intimacy within a developing urban environment.
