A project to provide architectural and urban design advice for a rezoning application in Hillsdale, done in association with Hill Thalis Architecture and Urban Projects.
The site is long and narrow, adjacent to a recently rezoned site incorporating the local bowling club, and on the edge of a long established zone of medium-density housing that has little residential amenity.
The building envelope studies prepared for the site provide for three apartment buildings of different types, with stair access and lift access, flat-floor apartments and two-storey maisonette apartments, all with good solar orientation, cross-ventilation and privacy.
The rezoning application is to be submitted in early 2015.
